Loft Conversions - Victorian Terraced Properties in Bristol

Victorian Terraced Velux Loft Conversion

This type of loft conversion is the most cost effective way of gaining an additional bedroom or study with the roof space and on occasion can also provide an en-suite shower room facility. As with all loft conversions designs much is dependent on the dimensions of the property and the apex height within the roof space. Velux windows are installed to not only provide natural daylight within the new accommodation but also to provide increased walking head height to areas within the loft conversion.

Victorian Terraced Dormer Loft Conversion

Although this type of loft conversion is often known as a flat roof dormer conversion the roof structure itself is actually set to falls to disperse the rainwater. This style of loft conversion will provide a larger floor area within the new accommodation and allows increased design options for the positioning of shower room facilities, wardrobes and bed positions. The design will also provide you with increased design options for incorporating french doors and juliet balcony into the design. A Juliet Balcony detail with French doors can be installed allowing plenty of natural light to enter the new accommodation.

Victorian Terraced Gabled Dormer Loft Conversion

If you have a good apex height within the roof space then the installation of a gabled dormer is possible. This style of dormer can often be designed in such a way to accommodate a shower room facility and will provide increased floor area within the new accommodation. Gabled dormer installations can vary in size to suite the client’s specific requirements and are often incorporated into a design to enhance the exterior aesthetics of the loft conversion.

Victorian Terraced Single Pitched Dormer

A single pitched dormer design is often installed as an alternative to a flat roof dormer. Single pitched dormer installations will have a conventional tiled roof and will usually provide a little less floor area within the conversion. The size of the dormer is governed by the roof pitch achievable but this design can enhance the external appearance of the conversion. We have installed this style of dormer within the Hotwells conservation area to gain planning approval which provided increased height within the conversion to accommodate an en-suite bathroom facility.
