The open plan family living area design has become very popular over recent years.
This Victorian end terraced property in Hanham Bristol was transformed into a bright open plan kitchen and dining area with separate utility area. We worked with the client from the outset producing initial provisional designs along with specifications and costs for the proposed works. The design incorporated a set of bi-folding doors to the rear elevation with lantern roof over the extension allowing plenty of natural light within the new area.
To form the open plan area we worked with our structural engineer and client producing a design to enable a section of the rear elevation wall of the property to be removed along with a section of the side elevation annexe, providing a bright and airy open plan living space for family and friends. The vast majority of our works are gained through recommendation and repeat business. On this occasion we had worked with the client installing a loft conversion for them in 2009 and it was a pleasure working with them again on the extension project.
What the customer said...
I know I said that we would send photos when we had finished the decorating the extension, and we never did! So we just wanted to say thank you for the Christmas card (and especially the wine!) Also to show you what a fabulous space we now have. It has made such a difference to our daily lives, and can now have people round without wondering where to put them all.
It is such a lovely place to spend time, and we have all to thank you for that! I also wanted you to see the bench that my brother made for us out of the original oak window lintels that you took out during the build. (It’s the one next to the Christmas tree in the photo)
Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication. There were times (Mainly when the snow came in and the pipes froze!), that we thought we would never get there. But we are so happy with how it all turned out.
We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and get time to relax with your families. If you’re ever in the area and are in need of a cuppa, pop in!
